Financial Aid for International Students

Finding financial resources to defray some of the cost you will incur is an important part of your overall search for your school of choice. Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV may offer some institutional financial assistance to international students (not including ALCP coursework). Students who are not U.S. citizens nor eligible non-citizens are not eligible for U.S. Federal and State funding. You may wish to check with your government and agencies within your home country for possible resources. Additional resources that may help can be found at , , and .

PLEASE NOTE: If you are a U.S. Citizen, a Permanent Resident of the U.S., or you currently have Asylee or Refugee Status, you may qualify for Federal or State Financial Aid. Please contact the financial aid office for more information.

    Canadian Undergraduate International Students

    Freshman students who enroll full-time at Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV receive a scholarship awarded through the Admissions Office. Our financial awards are based on your cumulative high school grade point average. Awards range in value up to $10,000 per academic year, split evenly over the fall and winter terms. These scholarships are renewable but cannot be combined with any other university grant or discount.

    Transfer students from an accredited U.S. or Canadian college or university who enroll full-time at the University receive a Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV grant awarded through the Admissions Office. Our financial awards are based on your cumulative grade point average in college. Awards can range from $1,000 to $9,000 per academic year, split evenly over the fall and winter terms. These grants are renewable but cannot be combined with any other university grant or discount.

    Other International Undergraduate Students

    Freshmen Students

    Freshman students with a U.S. high school affiliation or from a foreign high school who enroll full-time at the University receive a Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV scholarship awarded through the Admissions Office. Students from a foreign high school must also pass the English proficiency according to the Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV guidelines. Our financial awards are based on your cumulative high school grade point average. Awards range in value up to $10,000 per academic year, disbursed evenly between the fall and winter terms. These scholarships are renewable but cannot be combined with any other university grant or discount.

    American Language and Culture Program (ALCP) classes do not count toward full-time enrollment status in regards to scholarships and are not eligible for any type of discount.

    Transfer Students

    Transfer students from an accredited U.S. college or university or from a foreign high school with at least 24+ transferable credit hours or 36+ transferable quarter hours who enroll full-time at the University receive a Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV grant awarded through the Admissions Office. Students from foreign colleges must also pass the English proficiency test according to the Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV guidelines. Our financial awards are based on your cumulative grade point average in college. These grants are renewable but cannot be combined with any other university grant or discount.

    International Graduate Students

    Graduate students may qualify for a limited number of teaching or research assistantships, and typically these are awarded to newly admitted and enrolled first-term graduate international students upon review by the Academic Department or College. Please see your academic college for more information.

    American Language and Culture Program (ALCP) classes do not count toward full-time enrollment status in regards to scholarships and are not eligible for any type of discount. 

    For students in the Master of Business Administration program, if you score 600 or better on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT), you will qualify for a half-tuition scholarship towards a graduate business degree at the University of Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV. All you need to do to qualify is submit qualifying GMAT Scores to the Admissions Office. The half-tuition scholarship based on GMAT scores is not applicable towards non-business degree programs, and the half-tuition scholarship cannot be combined with other Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV grants, scholarships, or tuition discounts.
